In January 2107, Marimed’s programs earned the Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for Behavioral Health Care Accreditation by demonstrating continuous compliance with its performance standards. The Gold Seal of Approval® is a symbol of quality that reflects an organization’s commitment to providing safe and effective care.
Marimed’s programs underwent a rigorous onsite survey to earn the accreditation. During the review, compliance with behavioral health care standards related to several areas, including care, treatment, and services; environment of care; leadership; and screening procedures for the early detection of imminent harm was evaluated. Onsite observations and interviews also were conducted.
“Marimed is pleased to receive Behavioral Health Care Accreditation from The Joint Commission, the premier health care quality improvement and accrediting body in the nation,” added Dr. Matt Claybaugh, President and CEO of Marimed.
Marimed’s programs are also licensed and audited by the Hawai`i State Department of Health Department of Health and the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (with a score of 100%). Marimed is a member of the Outdoor Behavioral Health Council, Association for Experiential Education, Association of Children’s Residential Centers, Association for Career and Technical Education, Hawai`i Youth Services Network and other professional organizations.
